While Liberty Center’s size, tenant roster and mix of uses are noteworthy, it’s the project’s commitment to immersive, experiential design elements and extraordinary attention to detail that truly sets it apart.
Located on a prime 64-acre site conveniently located at a newly constructed $55 million interchange at I-75 and SR 129, Liberty Center counts accessibility and demographic strength among its many assets. The first phase of the project, which opened in October 2015, includes approximately 1.3 million square feet of diverse and dynamic retail, dining and entertainment options, including 75,000 square feet of Class A Office, 100,000 square feet of restaurant and dining, 240,000 square feet of upscale residential, 90,000 square-foot of cinema and entertainment and a 130-key hotel. Bracketed by 230,000 square feet of anchor retail, Liberty Center features approximately 352,000 square feet of multi-level inline specialty retail fronting parks and a series of retail and restaurant pavilions.
Liberty’s commitment to immersive, experiential design elements and extraordinary attention to detail invite visitors to explore and engage with the project. The list of unique features, programmed public spaces and one-of-a-kind gathering spaces at Liberty is extensive. Tree-lined pedestrian walkways bisect the site, and unique outdoor park spaces include fountains and sculptures. A long retail building spans between two parks, distinguished by a remarkable green roof space called The Acropolis. The Acropolis includes a beautiful rooftop garden, as well as two unique spaces: Sabin Hall, a first-class community amenity for conferences, weddings, meetings and other special events, and Unity Chapel by TriHealth a community resource that is actively programmed by Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and TriHealth with the goal of promoting health and wellness and bringing awareness and educating the greater community.
Liberty’s younger visitors have embraced the Cincinnati Children’s Discovery Center, a one-of-a-kind interactive kids’ play area designed by Roto–a creator of children’s museums and interactive exhibits. The pig-themed play area uses creativity and technology to provide unique and stimulating games and interactions for children.
Liberty Center truly represents the tipping point of a new wave of innovative town center development, bringing together a dynamic commercial foundation with innovative and inclusive design features and memorable and engaging experiential elements. The result is a project that has already begun carving out an indelible mark on the region.
