A month of exciting new changes at Easton Town Center got supercharged on Saturday as the shopping center welcomed the new American Girl store. Thousands of eager shoppers lined up early to get inside the first American Girl store in the state. As of Saturday morning, about 500 people were waiting in line. Some families had been waiting since 10 p.m. the night before.
Flota King traveled all the way to Michigan to pick up her granddaughter for the big event. “On the drive, I was getting my rest, because I was too excited,” said King’s granddaughter, Katie Curtis. “It’s just overwhelming.”
Alexa Northrop of Columbus agreed. “It’s so fun. You get to pick out your own clothes. It’s like dressing yourself,” Northrop said.
Wade Opland, the vice president of retail for American Girl, said the store will pull customers from a 250-mile radius. “We’ll see people from Cleveland and Cincinnati, so it really is a store of destination,” Opland said
