Easton Gateway brings 600,000 square feet of additional retail space to the mixed-use destination that redefined town center development in the United States

Steiner + Associates, The Georgetown Company and Limited Brands announced today that they have begun breaking ground on Easton Gateway, a 54-acre addition to Easton Town Center. The announcement was made by Steiner + Associates’ CEO Yaromir Steiner.

Nearly 15 years after Easton Town Center opened, Easton Gateway will introduce a number of noteworthy additions to the master-planned community, including new brands and big box retail. Costco already opened its doors in September 2013, unveiling a 150,000-square-foot concept on a 17-acre site they purchased. Additional tenants include REI, scheduled to open May 2014; Saks Off 5th, set to open a 28,000-square-foot store in May 2014; an 80,000-square-foot Dick’s Sporting Goods set to open July 2014; and a 45,000-square-foot Whole Foods, set to open in May 2015. Field & Stream will also open its first Ohio location in a 50,000-square-foot store situated within the new district.

Located on the northeast side of Easton Town Center, bounded by Morse Road to the north and I-270 to the east, Easton Gateway enjoys extraordinary access and great visibility.

“Easton Gateway is poised to both contribute to, and benefit from, Easton Town Center’s extraordinary drawing power,” said The Georgetown Company President Adam Flatto. “With more than 30 million annual visitors and established prominence as one of the nation’s most recognizable and admired mixed-use destinations, Easton Town Center is both the dominant retail destination and the premier leisure time location in the region.”

Prompting a number of infrastructure upgrades to the area, Easton Gateway will feature new traffic lights and the addition of a number of pedestrian avenues. The trolley system is also being extended to include stops throughout the addition.

“Easton Town Center’s signature middle-America theme has always been a complement to the density and connectivity of the built environment, conveying the sense of a vibrant downtown that has evolved naturally over time,” says Steiner + Associates Senior Executive VP of Real Estate Anne Mastin. “While Easton Gateway is spatially distinctive and organized for convenience and accessibility, the project reflects many of the same thoughtful architectural details and innovative design elements that give Easton Town Center its familiar brick-and-mortar appeal.”

Easton Gateway’s grand opening is scheduled for October 2014.
